Internal structure of the injection control unit

For a professional ECU, engine control unit repair a distinction is made between two groups of control units. The ones are built with a standard epoxy resin circuit board, the others consist of ceramic circuit boards and are called hybrid control units. The repair of conventional control units takes place in the soldering department. During ECU repair, new semiconductors, capacitors and resistors are installed according to OEM specification. In the case of hybrid control units, replacing the components is unfortunately not possible, as these are glued to the ceramic circuit board and potted. The ceramic printed circuit board is connected to the connector via bond wires. If these connections are defective, a special machine (ultrasonic bonding) is required to restore them.
