Hydrovar pump controller
The Hydrovar is a pump controller that is sold by several companies. Its task is to adjust the pump capacity to the demand. In order for it to be able to do this, it has an integrated Frequency converter. The Hydrovar is used for water supply, irrigation, heating, fire extinguishing systems, pressure boosting, etc. In our article on the Industrial electronics repair you will find more information about our way of working.
Operating modes of the Hydrovar pump controller
Through the internal Control and regulation The Hydrovar pump controller has a wide range of applications, which is why it supports several operating modes. You will find a few of the most common ones in the following paragraph.
Manual mode
Here, the Hydrovar works as a pure controller that is controlled by means of a frequency signal or can switch between two fixed speeds. Mostly this is always used with an external controller.
Regular operation
In control mode, the Hydrovar works as an actuator and controller. This enables fully automatic control without the need for another unit.
Cascade operation
In cascade mode, several Hydrovar pump controllers can be connected together. Depending on the configuration, there can be one or more masters. If there is more than one master unit, another master can take over the control in case of a defect
Error with the Hydrovar pump controller
There are Hydrovar pump controllers from 1.5 kW to 22 kW. All these units have a similar design and are therefore subject to the same errors. Units with a display can show different error codes, units without a display show the error via a blink code. All errors can be reset by switching off the power for 60 seconds. If the error is then always active, it is called a permanent error; if the error recurs after a certain time, it is called a sporadic or recurring error. Depending on how often the error occurs, sporadic errors on the table are difficult to localise.
Error analysis in the exclusion procedure
If an error occurs permanently or recurrently, you should first check the wiring and the sensors. If everything else is in order, you can ask us for a repair with the error code or its translation.
Problems currently known to us
Currently (as of June 2020), we are only aware of complete failure as a problem. In the case of complete failure, the Hydrovar refuses all service, even the Power and RUN LEDs are dark. For further information, please contact us at 02826-88198 call or via the Contact form .
