Internal structure of the ABS control unit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In order to be able to carry out a professional ABS control unit repair, one must know and understand the internal structure of the control units. With standard boards, components can be measured and replaced relatively easily, whereas with ceramic boards it is not possible to measure or replace the components. The good thing about hybrid control units is that component failures are not common. Most of the time, the aluminium connections (so-called bondings) to the connector are damaged. Thanks to our special machine, we can professionally repair these bondings. You should not have amateur repairs carried out on your hybrid control unit. Since they want to save themselves the investment in expensive special machines, they try to solder the connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This brings with it several problems at once. Aluminium does not bond with solder, so this connection will not last long. Furthermore, it is no longer possible to place a bond on a contact surface that has been contaminated with solder. As a result of this circumstance, the control units are irreparably damaged after soldering!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Correct diagnosis of the anti-lock braking system<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before the control unit reaches us for repair, fault diagnosis must be carried out on the vehicle. This diagnosis should not only include reading out the fault codes, but also checking the supply voltage and wheel speed sensors, and evaluating the control unit parameters. Only through this important preparatory work can it be determined whether the fault really does lie with the ABS control unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order for us to carry out the ABS repair, the control unit must first be removed and sent to us. Once here, the control unit is first dismantled and cleaned. After that, we check the electrical components for defects, or in the case of hybrid control units, for defective wire bonds. Following the fault diagnosis, we will prepare an estimate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as this is approved, we will replace the defective parts and seal the control unit. Afterwards, if possible, we will carry out a final functional test of the replaced components. If everything is correct, we will send the control unit back. You must reinstall it in the vehicle and check whether all functions are working properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
